Ashley Inez Harrison
Our miracle baby, Ashley Inez Harrison, was born prematurely weighing just one pound and eight ounces. From the very beginning, Ashley has been a true miracle. She lives with epilepsy, hydrocephalus, scoliosis, hip dislocation, cortical blindness, and developmental disabilities, and she is wheelchair-dependent.
Despite these challenges, Ashley is a proud graduate of Galena Park High School, where she earned recognition on the Honor Roll. Her accomplishments were celebrated by State Representative Ana E. Hernandez and State Senator Mario Gallegos of District 06. Ashley has also enjoyed memorable experiences attending the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and Rice University football games.
This milestone was a deeply meaningful moment for Ashley and her family. Ashley and her grandparents share a lifelong commitment to serving their community, the great state of Texas, and our country. Her grandparents, Lertie and Melvin Cobb, have lovingly helped raise Ashley from an early age and continue to support her today. Raising a child or adult with disabilities truly takes the strength and dedication of an entire family.
Ashley’s determination and resilience have brought her to an extraordinary turning point worth celebrating. At birth, she was given just ten years to live—yet today, she is in her thirties and thriving. Ashley has a beautiful smile, loves having her picture taken, and has a strong sense of hearing. She is a fighter, a survivor, and an inspiration.
There are many individuals like Ashley Inez Harrison in our community—each a blessing to know, support, and advocate for. With opportunity, prayer, dedication, and love, anything is possible.
